PORINGLAND PARISH COUNCIL WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
This website has been created and is maintained by Poringland Parish Council. We endeavour to make our website as accessible to as many people as possible.
Some of the ways we strive to achieve this are as follows:
- Being able to zoom in without the text spilling off the screen.
- Listen to most of the website using a screen reader.
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
- Good colour contrast between the text and the background.
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. Ability Net has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability. This website is partially compliant with the international WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
We will continue to work on this website to ensure compliancy with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, unless it is felt that a disproportionate burden is being placed on the Parish Council. Some documents are aged, but going forwards we will strive to make the documents fully accessible.

Monitoring and Enforcement
From January 2020, the Government Digital Service (GDS) will monitor public sector bodies’ compliance on behalf of the Minister for the Cabinet Office.
