Poringland Parish Council holds personal data about our employees, residents, suppliers and other individuals for a variety of Council purposes.
We have policies which set out how we seek to protect personal data and ensure that councillors and officers understand the rules governing their use of personal data to which they have access in the course of their work. In particular, our policies require officers to ensure that the Data Protection Officer (DPO) be consulted before any significant new data processing activity is initiated to ensure that relevant compliance steps are addressed.
We have risk assessed our data protection compliance, and have carried our a data audit. Data protection is built into all our processes, and the Council is registered with the Information Commissioner.
