Poringland Parish Council's Committees, Sub Committees and Advisory Groups

Poringland Parish Council operates with the following decision making structure.   Click here to view the terms of reference for the Advisory Groups. 

HR Advisory Group:  Non-decision making, not open to the public.
Responsible for staffing matters, reporting recommendations to Full Council for decision.
Membership: Ken Aldridge, Sean Curtis, David Hewer, Daniel Adam Garwood.

Finance and Governance Advisory Group:  Non-decision making, not open to the public.
Responsible for drafting the Council's budget together with recommending appointment of routine contracts such as grounds maintenance; reviewing the Council's policies and governance arrangements; and reviewing banking and investment arrangements.
Membership: Ken Aldridge, Sean Curtis,  John Henson, Carl Pitelen and Daniel Adam Garwood

Amenities Advisory Group:  Non-decision making, not open to the public.
Responsible for overseeing the Council's open space including play areas, and Rectory Lane Cemetery, as well as the external assets of the parish such as bus shelters and grit/dog bins.
Membership: David Hewer, John Overton, Carl Pitelen and Sean Curtis

Community Centre Advisory Group:  Non-decision making, not open to the public.
Responsible for the strategic management of the Community Centre.
Membership: Sean Curtis, John Henson, Daniel Adam Garwood, Martin Hirst

Events Advisory Group:  Non-decision making, not open to the public.
Responsible for the Engagement between the council and the local community and other stakeholders.
Membership: Ken Aldridge, Carl Pitelen and Martin Hirst

Community Land Advisory Group:  Non-decision making, not open to the public.
Responsible for the project and deliver-ability of the community land off The Ridings
​Membership:  Sean Curtis, David Hewer and Carl Pitelen

The Parish Council also makes appointments to various Trusts and other outside bodies.  These do not necessarily have to be councillors, but are appointed to represent the interests of the Parish Council, as follows:
Six Strategic Group:  David Hewer and Ken Aldridge
Welcome Home and Memorial Playing Field Trust:  Poringland Parish Council is appointed as the Sole Managing Trustee.  

Poringland Fuel Allotment Trust:  Alison Randall, David Gooderham.
Poringland Sand and Gravel Trust:  Chris Walker.
