W/C 04/09/2017
• Business letters were sent out to all identified businesses in the area, copy attached for reference.
• Electronic signage has been placed at either ends of the village to try to increase our communications with road users. We will be working on a number of different message to display on these throughout the day to make best use of them.
• We put a targeted Facebook post out on Monday evening to prompt more residents to sign up to In Your Area .
• We have stretched the traffic lights at the Arminghall end of Norwich road to cover a 200metre space to maximise efficiency. We have seven connections to complete and hope to complete these tomorrow.
• The connections at either end of the main in Norwich Road, one in the path outside the Railway Tavern and one in the field at Arminghall have been completed today.
• We have provided a new fence at Arminghall, beside the cycle path. We had to remove some panels but rather than replacing these panels alone we have replaced the full fence due to the poor condition of the original panels.
Next week (w/c 11/09/2017)
• We will be resurfacing the 200metre section on Norwich Road on Monday.
• Tuesday we will carry out the final connection in the rambles under give and take traffic management and move the lights southward on Norwich road, close to the junction of Caistor Lane.
• We will be excavating and completing the connection in the new section and also plan to have this backfilled and tarmacked next week.
• If we make good progress, we may be able to move to the next section, which will mean 3-way lights again at the junction of Caistor Lane. We will ensure that the phasing is set to 10seconds at the lighthead on Caistor Lane so that the traffic flows well as before.
