"For the community, at the heart of the community"

Picture
Built in 2007, Poringland Community Centre is owned and run by Poringland Parish Council. The Community Centre was constructed following 18 years of campaigning and fundraising by the Arkwrights Community Association.  The building cost £1 million and a quarter of the funding was secured from the neighbouring Norfolk Homes housing development. Part of the building is leased to Norfolk Police and Poringland Library resides next door.

The hall itself is a modern, flexible space of over 50 square foot.  The main hall can be partitioned into up to four independent 'quads' meaning up to four activities can run concurrently at any given time.  The whole building has been built on one level meaning it is fully accessible to all users. There is a large communal bistro area at the rear which transforms into The Community Café  adjacent to the spacious commercial kitchen and a well stocked bar for social occasions. The Centre is equipped with state-of-the art AV equipment and free WiFi is available throughout.

Over 40 regular classes and activities are presently housed throughout the week offering something for every part of the community. The Community Centre is also available for private and corporate hire whether it be a birthday party, wedding or business meeting.
